Arnhem
Located in the eastern Netherlands in the province of Gelderland on the Lower Rhine. Arnhem is firmly embedded in Second World War history: the Airborne Museum at Hartenstein documents the spectacular, ultimately failed Operation Market Garden of 1944, made world-famous by the film A Bridge Too Far. The Veluwe, Holland's largest nature reserve with extensive heathland, sand dunes and forests, begins practically at the city gates and offers hundreds of kilometres of walking and cycling routes. The Kröller-Müller Museum in the heart of the national park houses the world's second-largest Van Gogh collection and a significant sculpture collection in a unique outdoor setting.
