Ragusa
Located in southeastern Sicily in the Val di Noto region, Ragusa is one of the outstanding examples of Sicilian Baroque. Ragusa is a baroque twin city in Sicily, whose two parts – the aristocratic Ragusa Ibla with its rooftop silhouette and the higher-lying Ragusa Superiore – together form a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The terraced city is considered one of Sicily's most picturesque places and gained worldwide fame as the filming location for the popular detective series Inspector Montalbano. The regional cuisine is celebrated for its excellent cheeses, Modica chocolate and aromatic olive oils.
